0:00.0	Why do so many Christians resist accepting Calvinism?
0:11.0	A simple online search produces several videos of prominent Calvinistic scholars answering this very question.
0:19.0	But in reality, there are only two possible answers to that
0:23.5	question. If Calvinism is an error, the reason most Christians resist it is because they have good
0:30.0	discernment. If, however, Calvinism is true, the ultimate reason most resist it is because God
0:37.4	sovereignly and unchangeably decreed their resistance for his own glory.
0:42.3	As most prominent Calvinistic confessions state, God from all eternity did by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will
0:50.3	freely and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass, which would include,
0:56.0	of course, Christian's resistance to Calvinism. So if Calvinism is true, then God has predestined
1:03.5	most of his own children to resist his truth so as to glorify himself. The very idea that God unchangeably predestines his own children
1:13.6	to reject his own truth for his own glory is so intuitively false that I don't need to refute it.
1:21.8	I just need to make sure everyone understands that's what Calvinism entails, so they know to reject it.
1:29.2	But what do prominent Calvinists say is the reason that most Christians resist adopting their
1:35.8	doctrines.
1:36.8	Why are so many Christians against and actively against these concepts?
1:43.7	They don't know the Bible. It's not because they know too much
1:50.0	of the Bible that they have come to this position. It's because they know too little of the Bible
1:55.3	that they have come to this conclusion. And it's really their lack of knowledge of the full counsel of God
2:05.3	as taught in the scripture. And so to answer the question, why do so many resist? It's a lack
2:13.8	of knowledge of Scripture. And it's also pride and arrogance. And these truths are the
2:22.8	great pride crushers that leave all of us on our knees before the throne of grace
2:30.0	and saying, why me, Lord?
