Why do I still sin if I'm a follower of Christ?

And first up today, Adriel, we have an email from Elizabeth, and she says,

I'm interested in getting to know a Christian man who attends my church, but I found out he's a

tier three sex offender. Our pastor states he has asked for forgiveness and now lives a redemptive

and restorative life. Should I still consider dating him or should I stay away?

Okay, wow, a very important question. Now, first, you mentioned that this individual is a tier three

sexual offender. Let me just, I look this up just now.

Tier 3 requires registration as a sex offender for life.

If you are convicted of a tier 3 crime, you are not eligible to petition the court for removal from the sex offender registry.

So this is, this is pretty serious.

Tier 3 encompasses allegedly more serious sex offenses including but not limited to

felony possession of child pornography, pimping and pandering of a minor and many cases of rape. And so these are

very serious crimes indicative of obviously, you know, real deep, deep spiritual issues. And I'm glad to hear

that there has been repentance. And I'll just be honestly, in our church over the years,

we've had people who were registered sex offenders who became members. We actually consulted an organization called Grace,
