Let's start with Delta Airlines shall we?

Delta posted a bigger loss in the first quarter than was expected.

CEO Ed Bastion next month is his seven year anniversary in the corner office at Delta

Airlines.

And I'm going to take him at his word when he says he is not worried about the potential

for lower consumer spending.

He said in an interview that air travel is something that the consumer is prioritizing.

They may be pulling back in other areas, but I don't see it in our credit card data and

I don't see it in our bookings.

And I believe him, but I wonder if I can't help but notice the tense he's using there.

It's a present tense.

I don't see it.

I wonder if six months from now he's going to be seeing it because I don't know how

much of it.

It really seems like in the background over the last six to eight months, one of the

narratives for the overall economy has been consumer spending data, credit card data
