Summary

Conservatives won. We have the trifecta.

So why is it starting to feel like we lost?

DOGE is cutting waste. Trump is signing Executive Orders.

But Congress? Congress is doing… nothing.

All right, hello, everybody, and welcome back to making the argument. Well, Trump's big, beautiful

0:04.7

bill does appear to be able to pass out of committee despite the fact there was some pushback.

0:10.2

And quite frankly, there was pushback from members of Congress that we really admire.

0:13.8

And I think they brought up some pretty good points. But we can also not forget that Congress

0:18.7

has not really done a whole lot. I mean, when you look at the first hundred days and we look at what Doge has been doing,

0:24.6

they've been working really hard when we look at the administration has been doing.

0:27.6

They've been really active.

0:28.6

But Congress, on the other hand, not so much.

0:31.6

And the one bright side that we were kind of looking for here was the reconciliation bill.

0:35.6

It was this idea of the House of Representatives,

0:38.2

the Senate, actually getting the 12 appropriations bills out to form an actual budget that would

0:44.2

correct for a lot of the things that Doge has identified. And while that process does seem to be

0:49.8

moving along and potentially in time to actually get things done, because if you remember our

0:54.7

talk with Senator Mark Wayne Mullen, he said it had to be out by the end of July, there's

0:59.5

still some problems.

1:00.3

So what we're going to discuss today is we're going to talk about Doge, what it's done,

1:04.2

what it's currently doing, and what Congress's response has been to it, and hopefully,

1:09.7

hopefully be able to have some meaningful information

1:11.8

that we can give you that can help you actually do the things that are necessary to influence

1:15.6

members of Congress to start holding up their end of the bargain. As always, I am your host,

1:21.2

Nick Fradis, currently, but not for much longer, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. So I know

1:25.8

what it is to go through budget processes and I know what it is to vote against a lot of budget bills with me in
