Dr. Berg talks about why cholesterol can go up on a low fat and cholesterol diet. Your body makes cholesterol, a lot. It bakes 3000 mg per day. When you give it less it makes more. The key is to understand cholesterol. If it's so dangerous, then why does the body make it? Cholesterol has a purpose of providing raw material for hormones, nerve, and brain tissue, to make cell membranes, and also to provide a bandaid against damage in the body, esp. your arteries. It may be at the crime scene, but it's not the criminal. In fact, there are way more damage to the body on low cholesterol than high.

The body actually makes cholesterol from Carbs.
