in the coal mine of our democracy.

And when so many people don't think this is something

that can meaningfully make a difference for them,

it reflects poorly on the quality and legitimacy

of our democracy.

fail to mobilize Latino voters once again.

32 million Latinos are eligible to vote this election.

That's a record.

But research suggests that in battleground states,

57% of them are not going to cast ballots.

Historically, Latino and Latina turnout

has always been lower than that of whites,

African-Americans, and Asians.

Many had hoped that things would be different this time around.

During the primaries, Senator Bernie Sanders

made Latinos and Latinas a focus of his campaign.

Many of them called him Theo Bernie.
