brought to you by Punch Bull News. It's Tuesday, July 9th, 2024. Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, how Biden is holding on. Number two,

the latest from the vault. And number three, NATO leaders head to the hill. All right, Jake, let's get

into it. Happy Tuesday morning. If you listen to the rhetoric coming from some House Democrats during

the last week, it seemed like President Joe Biden was toast. A dozen or so lawmakers publicly said the president should stand aside or was going to lose

to former President Donald Trump on Election Day.

Lawmakers' private analyses were far more brutal.

Biden is done.

It's over.

He needs to go now.

And there's been a ton of damning reporting just about kind of the cognitive

ability of the shielding the president's staff has done over the past year. And as much as

people have said to a lot of us privately, Jake, that it is time for him to go, a lot of concern

about what the impact of Biden at the top of the ticket means for their

own particular races. So far, he is hanging on. Of course, who knows, it's only Tuesday.

But it is kind of an interesting ability that they've just kind of decided to push through

with a defiant Biden despite this consternation?
