Listen, where do you want to start this morning? It's a funny one, isn't it? I don't know if you were listening yesterday.

If you weren't, obviously, I need a letter from your mum explaining why by the end of morning break today.

But we talked about Brexit yesterday. We're not talking about Brexit today. Not directly. But I said to you yesterday that in fact, I think I tied myself in a small knot at the top of the show yesterday. Forgive me, if you're newish to the program, we were very front and center on the conversations about why Brexit was a bad idea. You know, that,

that was one of the reasons why perhaps you're tuning in today. It pushed the program into

places it had never previously reached. And happily it stays there. But I did explain yesterday

why there is nothing nice about being proved more or less completely right about all of that.

I don't mean just me.

I mean, people like Mark Carney and Sir Paul Nurse and various other actual genuine experts.

There's nothing nice about it.

There's nothing even vindicated.

It's a slightly weird word.

Vindication.

It's not nice because we live here.

And I open the Daily Mail this morning because I have to have a little look at it just to find out what the enemy is thinking, as it were.

And I saw this headline, gleeful remainers love to blame all our ills on Brexit, but three years after

we left, it's the EU that's failed the big test. I mean, such a pantwettingly stupid position to

adopt that you may wonder why I'm drawing your attention to it. And the reason is actually

quite straightforward. The reason I'm drawing our attention to it is that's so obviously

untrue. I mean, so much so that this great bastion of former Remainer rhetoric is enormous pains to explain on a regular basis why there's nothing to celebrate about being proved right. It's dreadful. We would much rather be wrong. There is nothing gleeful in pointing

out the consequences of, A, that ludicrous decision in 2016, and B, the lies with which it was

finally pushed over the line by Boris Johnson and David Frost. It's awful. It's horrible to watch.
