I hope you all had a great Easter in the Rock and Roll Politics Cooperative

and maybe took a short break from making sense of all the complex twists and turns.

But now we've got to do it again.

Enough, enough of not doing it.

We must now return our gaze and focus on the world of politics

and try to make sense of it all.

I had a good time.

In fact, some of it I didn't switch off, actually.

And I bet you didn't either.

Two long walks with Will Hutton, the great economics journalist, gave me many ideas and thoughts.

Hardly noticed the scenery. Swimming in the sea with Robert Choate used to run the office for budget responsibility,

giving me his assessment of world politics in the icy cold, but he was cheating.

He wore one of those wetsuits.

We were in swimming along without any of that.

So yeah, interesting, varied times and also great as ever to meet Chris Carter, who runs the business school at Edinburgh University who was down. And so we all

delve deeply, but had some fun as well. But now it's absolutely back. Parliament's back. The recess is over.

And if it's okay with all of you, I'm quite keen to reflect on the apparent breakdown of the always, I suspect,

fragile consensus over net zero. Some of the always, I suspect, fragile consensus over net zero.

Some of the attacks on Ed Miliband and the wider debate about energy, which is so

interesting.
