Summary

After the deaths of 9 bus drivers in London, we hear from those working in public transportation to get an idea of the conditions they work under, along with measures that may (or may not) have been taken by their employers to ensure their safety. Despite repeated calls from health professionals and experts it seems that some members of the public are still reluctant to socially distance themselves from each other. We ask: why?

Really incredulous and furious at the sights they were seeing on their own journeys to and from work.

We did discuss briefly, or not briefly, but one caller,

it was Fatu, I think, who pointed out to us that many nurses in particular from overseas,

who may have been relatively recently arrived here, would not have anyone to talk to when they got

home. And we said we'd look into what could perhaps be done for them. I'm delighted

to tell you that the NHS is launching a hotline to support and advise its own staff during this

pandemic. I'll share details of that with you a little later in the program if it is something

that you need or indeed if you know somebody that may need it.
