Summary
(00:00-26:28) – Query & Company opens on the first show of 2026 with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing Indiana’s dominating win over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl. Jake connects the history of our founding fathers to how Indiana has become the overwhelming favorite in the College Football Playoff.
(26:28-39:40) – The voice of the Hoosiers, Don Fischer, joins Jake Query on today’s show to talk about Curt Cignetti’s approach right now between balancing the transfer portal and preparing for Oregon. Don comments on what it was like experiencing the IU takeover in Pasadena last week, explains how the Ducks and Hoosiers are different than the first time they faced off, and recaps last night’s win for IU basketball over Washington.
(39:40-49:32) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake Query discussing the shortcomings of Chris Ballard and how he believes that Ballard is going to blame the fallout of the season to something that he said in one of his first press conferences about one position in particular.
(49:32-1:18:18) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 makes his weekly visit on Query & Company to share what he has learned from locker room cleanout day. Chappell highlights what Charvarius Ward said about his future in the NFL, evaluates how likely it is for some players to be back with the team next season, assesses how the team could handle Michael Pittman Jr.’s contract.
(1:09:36-1:30:30) – Jake Query opens the phone lines for callers to share their thoughts on the Colts decision to bring back Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard. Plus, Amp Harris makes an appearance in studio!
(1:30:30-1:39:13) – The second hour of the show concludes with Jake Query and Amp Harris chatting about the future of the Indianapolis Colts. Amp shares what he has learned by talking with people associated with the Colts about Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, and Carlie Irsay-Gordon.
(1:39:13-1:48:55) – The final hour of the show tips off with Jake admitting that when he was focused on comparing where the Indianapolis Colts are to where the Indiana Pacers used to be, that he realized something with IU football since Curt Cignetti’s arrival to Bloomington.
(1:48:55-1:54:56) – Jake congratulates Braden Smith on becoming the Big Ten’s all-time leader in assists and thought the message that Tom Izzo sent was very telling on how people in college basketball view Purdue. He connects that program to the Indianapolis Colts.
(1:54:56-2:24:48) – Today’s show closes out with Jake waiting for Carlie Irsay-Gordon to take the podium by explaining what he wants to hear the new Colts CEO is asked by the members of the media. Plus, JMV joins him in the studio to preview his show.
