Let the judicial process run its course.

There is no purpose to a media campaign. It is for the courts

to decide on the basis of evidence. And I would just remind people that, you know, we always

presume innocence until people have been found guilty. Lucy Lettby has been found guilty

on multiple counts of serious crimes with multiple whole life sentences.

And until the courts find reason to suggest otherwise, we should continue to regard her as a convicted killer,

serving multiple life sentences, delivering justice for those families going through in unimaginable and intolerable grief.

West Streeting, talking to me on LBC about Lucy Letby and specifically about the

mushrooming cloud of people, including top politicians who are questioning the verdict that was reached after a 10-month trial when she was found guilty for murdering seven babies and attempting to kill seven others.

Something that some of the families of those victims have said is grotesque.

And today, a public inquiry is beginning into how she murdered those seven newborns, into how

those killings went unnoticed for months.

It is not a trial.

It is not an inquiry about her innocence or her guilt.
