On each episode, I will talk to an American expert or an expert on America

about something that's going on in America in 2023. I am delighted to be joined by Innes

Stepman, who is a Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute.

And we had Innes on just over a year ago,

about June, July last year,

after the Dobbs decision,

which, as Americano listeners will probably remember,

was the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade,

which made abortion a very hot topic, again, in. And the sort of old d about it in some Republican circles and certainly in Democrat circles now is that

the political script has flipped when it comes to abortion. And whereas in the 60s and 70s and 80s,

it was a issue that drove out large numbers of pro-life,

anti-abortion voters.

Now, since Dobbs, it's now a winning issue for the Democrats

because we saw in the midterms

that the Democrats campaigned a lot on the abortion issue
