If the Bible is so clear, why are there so many different interpretations?

It is a question related to the clarity of Scripture.

The older language is the perspicuity of Scripture, which is an odd word to refer to the clarity of Scripture since no one is clear anymore what perspicuity means, but it's a good term.

If the Bible is clear, we believe that as Protestants, it was one of the foundational issues around Scripture in the Reformation.

They did not disagree whether the Bible was authoritative or whether it was true, but they often disagreed, Protestants and Catholics,
