Hey, good morning. It's Patricia Murphy. It's Wednesday. This is Seattle now. President

Donald Trump has an axe to grind with Seattle's largest law firm. A Trump-issued executive order says Perkins

Cooey participates in dishonest and dangerous activity that has affected the country for decades.

The order could have an impact on the firm's ability to practice law in Seattle and around the

country. Udub law professor from practice Doug Ross will tell us how in a minute. But first,

let's get you caught up. Washington Democratic Senator Patty Murray will address President

Trump's efforts to dismantle the Federal Department of Education this afternoon. Local education leaders, including Seattle's school board president, will join Murray at a roundtable

discussion in Shoreline. It starts at three. Murray has called job cuts at the Education

Department a threat to students and public schools in Washington State. Since taking office,

President Trump has slashed nearly 50%

of the federal agency's workforce and terminated some federal grants. One of the big-ticket items

during this year's legislative session in Olympia is the rent stabilization bill. The current

proposal would cap annual rent increases at 7% and prohibit rent increases during attendance first year.
