It’s been hailed as an “historic moment for the cause of Palestinian liberation.” Fourteen Palestinian groups, including longtime rivals Fatah and Hamas, signed a deal for “national unity” aimed at maintaining Palestinian control over Gaza once the continuing Israeli assault is over.
