are not worthy of our concern, our care about

what they think of us. We're going to get into it in Mark chapter 8, verses 34 through 38 today.

34 through 38. And let's begin by going to prayer. Our Father, we turn to your word, seeking to

understand what it's saying to us. And more than that, seeking to apply it. So help us today.

This is a heavy passage. It's a serious passage. And we want your

spirit's help in understanding and doing. We ask it in your name. Amen. All right, friends,

Mark chapter 8 verses 34 through 38. And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, Jesus said to them,

if anyone would come after me,

let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life

will lose it. But whoever loses his life for my sake in the Gospels will save it. For what

does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
