| 0:00.0 | When he was like, okay, Renbuck, my mom was like, Renbog, Renbork. |
| 0:04.0 | I say, I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, check her out. She's on the radio, right? If I type of Rembog, they're not going to find it. Oh my, my, thank. You know, this is for the Ari. Ari, B, you and you. Borg. It's just right. B.R. B.R. And yeah, so that, yeah, that, they were on board, man. |
| 0:24.6 | They were on board, they were just like, so how are you going to make money? |
| 0:26.6 | I said, I haven't figured that put out there. |
| 0:28.6 | Yeah. |
| 0:29.6 | That was like, you figure out how to come and tell me that. |
| 0:31.6 | Yeah, yeah, I love that. |
| 0:32.6 | They just supported ever since they will send a link when I was in the newspaper they'll tell their friends |
| 0:38.3 | of all I love that I love that I love when like African parents are like in our case |
| 0:44.8 | Nigerian parents are like really supportive of something that's not like you of their children's |
| 0:49.6 | dream yeah yeah are you not really shocked but it's more like I'm just appreciative that the support is there because something like I you not really shocked, but it's more like, I'm just appreciative that the support is there |
| 0:57.6 | because sometimes like you'll just see and you hear about like people not supporting |
| 1:01.8 | or like people's parents forcing them to study this and forcing them to go to this |
| 1:06.3 | or that, you know, no, you must go here. |
| 1:08.4 | And then even in my case, with my parents that they're quite um |
| 1:12.5 | they just allow me to do what i want to do and then when i hear about like the stories that i've |
| 1:16.8 | said it just feel like it just makes me feel like i don't want to be that type of parent i want to |
| 1:20.8 | support my kids in let me not say in everything that they do there's something i will not come |
| 1:25.5 | oh we stand on business that one but if they're doing something that's a little bit different, and I think because I've gone, like we've gone through it as well, like the trajectory of like not doing the most conventional ways of making money and having a career and stuff, I think I'll be able to support my child in that way because I went through it as well. Yeah, definitely. I feel like they're important conversations that need to be had because really and truly your parent forcing you one way is a fear response. There's something that they're scared of. Yeah, 100%. I think a lot of it is fear like because I remember when I was wanting to go to uni and then I told my parents I wanted to study advertising marketing but I was like maybe you should just do marketing because you know advertising, it's just box you. I'm like, no, it's the two together. It's not just like, but it's more of like they don't want you to like limit yourself and be like be too niche, be too specific. They'll be like, oh, but what are you going? |
| 2:18.1 | You need a plan B, you need this, you need that. And I think that's just what they've been to and what they've seen in their life. And they've been like, no, these are, this is how it's work. This is what we've seen. The people that went to go and do a music DJ, they're only doing one year birthday parties. They're not on the radio. |
| 2:33.8 | You get by me, you know, you know, because obviously you talk about community and everybody, everybody would use the same people. So you have that DJ that you just know, okay, you'll call on Kubola. Come and bring his deck and do the virus. That would be the one, but then obviously now they can see that you can be successful without doing, you know, the convention. And even my dad would be like when his friends, when his friends kids are like, talk about going to university. But I'd be like, whoa. Let them do what they want to do. Yeah. Don't go and send them to do medicine. They'll not get third class. You'll now be looking at them. They'll be looking at you. what's the next move so my dad will be like listen let them go and study what they want to do and if they |
| 3:12.4 | get first class what's what's what's better them going to do what they're doing getting first class |
