like i'm going to be ranting all day uh just with all the stories that are going on right now

in the world of sports but uh the chicago bears announced today, Ben Johnson said, the head coach, of course,

that Caleb Williams will not be playing in the preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Ben Johnson did say that he, quote, suspects that Williams and starters will play at some point in the preseason,

but that's still to be determined. I always love when the coaches be like, oh, like, I think that's what's going to happen. It's like, dude, you literally are the person who decides. Like, like, like, like, you can just go ahead and let us know. Like, I don't know why we have to be doing like the weird cloak and dagger thing for preseason games. But hey, that's where we're at in 2025. But no Caleb Williams on the field this weekend in South Beach when they take on the Miami Dolphins.

I don't like that decision, just based on what we've been hearing out of Bears camp.

I would have figured that they would have wanted to take every opportunity to try to iron out all the details ahead of Monday night football, which is a month from now when they take on the Minnesota Vikings. This to me just, and it's, I'm going to sound like the old man. And I know everybody says, well, preseason, let's just get everybody through their healthy. Let's not worry about it. Like, these are live reps that, like, they can help you get better to some degree, you know?

Like, I think it would be a good thing for the Chicago Bears to be out there and actually play. And also selfishly, as somebody who likes football, I want to see Caleb Williams. I want to see what it looks like in year two. So a little bit of a bummer that he's not going to be playing. He'll play at some point. but like, man,
