Sometimes great play callers or offensive minds don't make the best head coaches.

As we turn the page from 2025 to 2026 in 20 minutes or so,

a little less than that actually, about 15 minutes. I'll tell you why one guy has built a monster

that he's now trying to defeat himself. I may even throw in a stranger things reference, despite the fact,

don't tell anybody. I've never watched a single second of the show. I know. That's especially

this time of year when everybody's going nuts for it. Why would I admit something like that?

Because I'm a loser who just watches sports. Sorry. Anyway, great play callers don't always make great head coaches.

And I'll tell you why.

Because they've been stuck in the world of X's and O's for so long that they haven't had to manage personalities.

Now, there are exceptions to the rule. And I want to lay the groundwork

for this conversation that we mentioned off the top of the show. You've heard about it in the last

24 hours. The Dallas Cowboys have placed Trayvon Diggs on waivers, assuming he clears. He'll be

available to absolutely anybody in the NFL that wants to pick him up at the low, low cost of around half a million dollars.

That's it. That's all for an all pro level corner. At least he was the most dynamic playmaking corner in the league before that ACL injury a couple years ago.

Now, it's well known, I think by most football fans, that a lot of players,

you could probably say this for, you know, pitchers who undergo Tommy John in baseball as

well, or any major injury and surgery, that the subsequent rehab and comeback from that injury can take much longer than just the 9 to 12

months, for example, in the case of an ACL, that it takes to actually get back on the field.
