Welcome to the Whiskey Throttle Media Super Cross Preview Show.

I'm your host David Pingree, and I've put together a pretty amazing team of pundits here to walk through this stuff. These are guys that have actually been there and done that. I'm just here to look good. But we've got Grant Langston, Ricky Johnson, and Jeff Emmick, multi-time national champions, supercross champions in their own right. And so nobody better to speak to what we're going to see this season, the guys that have actually been there and done that.

So thank you guys for joining me. Of course. Yeah. And the 450, we're going to start today's with the 450 show. We will have a separate 250 preview show. But the storyline is pretty obvious this year. Jet Lawrence hurt his ankle, tailus and an ankle fracture. He's going to be

out. He's going to miss this entire season. And that really opens up the possibilities for

everybody. And I think, Ricky, you kind of gave me a little story before we sat down about

that opportunistic mindset when, and I think, Grant, you know what this is about. I think when you won your championship, a certain guy got heard and you were like, hey, maybe I can get this done. Anyway, but it changes everybody can win. It changes everything. So in 19, way back when in 1981, Mark Barnett was the fastest guy. I mean, he was unbelievable. He had the perfect bike.

That Suzuki Works bike was like 190 pounds. It was just unbelievable. And he was just an animal,

so strong, so fast. And I got seconded him down to Lake Whitney. And one of the things that

intimidated me so much about him is that I was just ripping clothes off, grabbing people's coax,

dumping it on my head. He has his goggles on his helmet helmet still has the joff on he's walking casually through the pit

back to his pit and I'm thinking I'm a 16 year old kid I'm like I'm never going to be that guy I'm

just but going into the last round at Carlsbad a buddy of mine calls me and says hey burn it

powdered his shoulder.

He can't be there.

You can win.

And I literally felt, I'm like, I have a chance to win now because Mark Barnett's not there.

When the chance of winning, when the dominant guy, which I don't care what you say, we have so

many superstars here, but Jet Lawrence is the guy.

I mean, he is just

phenomenal when you take him out of the equation everybody breathes thinner air everybody

goes into that race going i can win it doesn't he's not here i'm not worried about him he's been

the kryptonite for you know for um god thanks spit it out rick uh chase chase is like when he gets
