Not yet a new year total soccer show.

It's that time when you never really know what the date is.

But to help me make sense of not the date, but the Bundesliga is Manuel Vaitz.

I will say hello to Manuel in a second.

First, I should say I am Taylor Rockwell.

Joining me today is Manuel Vait.

Manuel, it's good to have you back on the show. Yeah, it is good to be back. And you know what? It's been quite some time. I know you guys, you have gone through quite a lot of things. And first of all, my condolences, because I haven't been able to say it on the show. I really want to say it in the show.

And I was very, very lucky to meet Darrell a couple times. And, you know, first in that time in Dissledorf, legendary time in Dissledorf, I have to say, one of my favorite Bundesliga trips ever. And it was just so fantastic to hang out with you and Daryl. And the evening we spent in that bar in dizzledore i don't think i will ever forget and then of course the trip to new york

and i got to meet darrow and i feel very fortunate now that i did get to meet him and he told me in

dizzlevo about what he was going through and his optimism at the time and i thought that was

that was something that really touched me

because I really thought, you know, he seemed so sure that he was going to beat it. And it made me

very sad when I found out that he might not. And of course, devastated me when I learned that he

didn't. And yeah, I just want to reach out. I mean, first of all, you know, you, my condolences to you, but also to his family, to everyone in the community. I think he was such a wonderful person. So I wanted to just start to show him with this before we go into the important Bundesliga things that are really not that important, aren't they? In the Gransky. It has honestly, yeah, there have been those moments of like, I don't know, I can't get so

mad about Man United not winning a game. Like there are much bigger things to play in the world. But still, it's important to care about the things that you do care about, like Manchester United failing to win. But we're not going to talk about them. We can talk about Darrell a little bit more for a moment because first off, like, I don't know if it's the pandemic that stretches everything out or if it's just because it has been such a

sort of turbulent time for me.

But I do sort of forget that there are people like yourself who knew Daryl met him on a number of occasions, spent a lot of time with him, who haven't yet had the opportunity to sort of talk about him.

I should note Manuel did message me, I think, as soon as I released that episode and has just been a very supportive friend to both myself and Daryl. And I think Daryl, I should say, thought very highly of Manuel. I'm saying this to the audience, but also you, Manuel, that like what happens, I think, on the show sometimes is if I do an interview with somebody, like, it's not an official thing we would do, but it would just

become like, oh, yeah, Taylor's talking to Manuel, like, Daryl doesn't really talk to Manuel.

It happened with Adam Bells as well, where Daryl would only be the one to interview him, and I never did. And for a while, I was like, does he think there's a feud here? I don't like that. But, like, people shouldn't mistake that like you all weren't on many episodes together because every time

I would do a show with you, he would send me 15 questions to ask you. And I think he really
