Summary

Jon Harris dives into Angel Studios latest movie "Young Washington."

From Washington’s daring expeditions in the Ohio Valley and the spark of the French & Indian War to his character, duty, and bravery, Jon shows why the real George Washington is even greater than the inspiring film portrays. He also addresses artistic license in historical movies and spends time debunking popular Masonic conspiracy theories about the Founding Fathers.

A must-watch for patriots, history lovers, and families looking for wholesome, heroic stories.

Welcome to the Conversations, That Matter podcast.

We are securing Orthodoxy in the church. We are loving the United States of America.

0:19.3

And what better time to do that than the weeks

0:22.2

after and before and during the 4th of July. For me, the 4th of July is not just one day. It extends

0:29.3

to my birthday because my birthday is today July 12th. So this is like usually the hottest part of the

0:35.3

year. It's the part of the year that I want to do water sports. And I haven't done as much as I did when I was a kid. The time isn't there. But I will say

0:42.6

this. I was able, what last week I think it was, to go for like an hour and a half up a series of

0:48.8

waterfalls and swimming holes in a gorge with my brother on one of the hottest days of the year.

0:55.9

And then I was able to spend a few hours on my kayak the other day in the Hudson River and just wonderful. When it's hot,

and you get in the middle of the river and you got that breeze, it's something that is,

1:08.5

I don't even know how to describe it. It's almost spiritual.

1:11.6

It's like an experience that connects you to the land in ways an air conditioner does not.

1:18.4

And in fact, it's more refreshing to go up a swimming hole in a gorge in the mountains,

1:23.8

feeling that cool water on a day when it's 100 degrees than it is popping in your shower to get a cold shower.

1:29.4

It's just different. I can't explain. The mechanics might be the same. It might be, well, the water

1:34.5

temperature is the same. No, it's different. I'm sorry, it's different. And there's only one place that can

1:39.9

fulfill that longing to be cooled off in that kind of way. And it makes you appreciate the land

1:47.1

that you're on. Speaking of the land that you're on, one of the projects that I've been working on

1:50.6

before we get to the main subject here of George Washington is my album Heritage. Heritage is out.

You can get a copy of it. In fact, if you go to john harris-tunes.com, there's a place right

there. You can order your own copy of the CD if you still use CD players. Otherwise, go to Spotify or

Amazon or iTunes, any of the places that sell or stream music. It's there. And you can see the
