So today, my friends, I am going to try and walk you through the very interesting state of Sister Abigail, a creation of one Bray Wyatt, who very sadly passed away way too soon a few years ago. And now that we can look back on it and sort of dig dive deep into it with a bit of research, I think it's fair to say that Bray was just the head of the game when it came to creativity in professional wrestling and that a lot of the concepts he probably bought to WW, they're like, This is great.

But we don't. of the game when it came to creativity in professional wrestling and that a lot of the concepts

he probably bought to WW, they're like, yeah, this is great, but we don't understand it, because in many ways Bray Wyatt was operating on his own level. It really did sound like he wanted to turn wrestling on its head, not just for the sake of doing it, because he did sit in a different way, and sure, maybe he needed a filter. You may remember that Triple-H interview from a few years ago and he was like, it's so much fun,

0:39.9

but also kind of difficult working with Bray because he just has so many ideas and somebody needs to kind of mold them. But once again, when you do sit there and you go on that Google and you start reading things about Sister Abigail, which kind of did cement or bring everything together this idea when it came to the White family, I tell you, it's so flipping interesting. Now before we do get into this, I just want to make it very, very clear that when it comes to wrestling, it is the most important of the least important things. And Bray Wyatt passing away so early is all that matters here. I hope everything is all right with his friends and his family and things like that. But yes, when you do start thinking about the sports entertainment side and you get into Sister Abigail, there's a lot of stones left unturned. Now personally, as a fan, I would have always been happy for Sister Abigail just to be some sort of apparition that you never see and you create in your own head. I mean, how many times you've been watching a horror movie, and then you get to see the monster, like what I was thinking of, was way worse than that. And so like WW we ever actually headed into this territory, but boy, how old are they teased it? So suddenly did feel like WW wanted to introduce a sister Abigail as a character. But let's go right back to the origins, which once again does tie into the White family. And I had totally forgotten about this. When Bray White started cutting his first promo as the Eat of World, it was all about Sister Abigail, and she was the centerpiece of his madness. Because after a heavy insinuation that Bray White may or may not have killed his mother or father, he went for a wonder in the woods where he met a woman who had been possessed by a demon. And yes, this was Sister Abigail. Now, she would teach Bray White every single thing that he would go on to preach, but also gave him one very specific rule, you must always watch out for the man in the woods. Now, very actually, of course, Bray does come across this man. In the panic, he returns the sister Abigail and says, I met the man in the woods. And because it is basically a scary movie, she tells him, dun, dun, dun, the man in the woods was actually you. So there are a lot of grey areas here, but it is so much fun to read about when we also learn that the spirit of Sister Abigail passes away. But that's when Bray Wyatt does start his white family, because he now has to take all of this law and take all of this teachings and take all of this, whatever you want to call it, and pass it across the world, because he believes this is what everybody should buy into. So yes, from here on he wants to spread the word of his fallen sister. That ties into the rocking chair, and that ties into the lantern, because these were possessions he did have when he was learning these teachings, so he's almost building like a spiritual crypt to Sister Abigail, which is always going to be front and center, even though in his mind she's passed away. Stay with me. There are loads of connections between these two, as Bray does get called up to the main roster. But the first major fubour, all of this is kind of thrown into the limelight, is the one that he has with Randy Orton. Now, people do forget that Randy actually joined the Wyatt family by choice, which seemed very curious at the time, and Bray Wyatt was so into him that when Luke Harper was like, I don't know about this boss, what happened to Luke had been there since day one. He got ousted. Bray and

3:24.8

Randy were going to go skip through the forest. Of course it was a ruse and after Randy or

3:28.2

had won the rumble he decided oh hi Bray Wyatt I would like a shot of your WWE title but because

3:34.0

this was unhinged Randy he then went to burnt down the Bray Wyatt family compound and nobody

3:40.2

cared not even the coughs. Now of course a major reason that WWE did this is because fireworks and pyrotechnics was good on TV, but also it was to damage the connection between Bray White and Sister Abigail. This was the HQ, this was the crypt, and now crazy order had just gone and killed it. I mean, Bray was so damn upset that he essentially told us that he was going to use the chard remains to let Abigail sort of flow through him instead, but because he was a new being or a new vessel, it didn't click. It's like when you start a new job, you've got to give things time to bed in. And I'm laughing, but I think that's what Bray White was trying to get across, but actually if you do go and watch it, as we've already talked about, he did it oh so well.

4:34.0

It's also one of the reasons Bray Wyatt gave as to get across, but actually if you do go and watch it, as we've already talked about, he did it oh so well. It's also one of the reasons Bray White gave as to why Randy Yacht was able to beat him at WrestleMania. When you do go back and watch clips from this time, I just don't think WW led into this enough, or maybe they just didn't give Bray White the amount of rope he did need to do this, because I think if you had hammered the audience over the head with this, everybody would have bought in. Now, soon after this, we got a draft and Bray White moved to Roar, well, once again, he was like, you know what, me and Abbey now, we are one,

4:38.4

I totally feel it, and what's the first thing he did? He got into a program with Seth Rollins in

4:42.5

2017, and Bray White actually beat him. I suppose I gave him confidence when he did turn his attention to Finn Baller,

4:48.2

which again was due to Sister Abigail,

4:50.8

because Finn had his demonic persona,

4:53.1

and Bray had decided,

4:54.2

you know what, when you do enter this mode,

4:56.6

you are threatening everything I am,

4:58.3

and you're threatening my sort of mystical,

5:00.8

but also kind of real in my brain sibling,

5:03.1

so now I've got to deal with you. He then challenged Ballot to a fight at TLC 2017, and I'm sure you do remember this if you were watching WW at the time, and if not there will be an image on the screen. It's when Bray White started to cut a promo, he had a veil over his face, and yes, he was being Sister Abigail. Now he even spoke different, and I will tell you first time, when I first saw this five, six, seven, eight years ago, it totally went under my baldhead, but as soon as I had read this verse or everything that Bray was trying to get across, I was like, oh my gosh, I totally understand it now. It's just a double background to other things that we have talked about. Once again, I just don't think WWW we told this story in the way that it was meant to be told. At a time, as a lot of people work, so I remember having this conversation, it was just a bit like, are they dressing Bray Wyatt up in, well, women's clothes just because they want a reaction? It didn't really make much sense. I just think Vincent McMahon saw it in the most basic way possible, which was, well, you could be Sister Abigail, as opposed to the fact that he had consumed her, which again is a stupid way to put it, and now she was taken over his brain. What really summed this up is that very sadly before this match, Bray did get ill and we had to cancel it. And a lot of fans' reaction was, oh, thank goodness for that, because that was going to go off the rails, but also it was when we got that now kind of infamous match between AJ Stiles and Finn Baller, which took the place of this. And for years, hardcore nerds that me were like, imagine we could get that match in WWE, and they went and did it. They even did the two sweet, different video for a different day, Finn Ball and then went and got in trouble. Even then though, Wyatt was so committed to making sure he tied every single thing in his life to this character, he said the only reason I did get ill is because I wasn't able to control the power of Sister Abigail, so bless that man, when he had that crazy tag team with Matt Hardy. Now I really did enjoy this, I thought they were great together, but you could also kind of tell behind the scenes

6:46.1

the creative team just didn't know what to do with either of them. So they went, well, they're both kind of looms. We can just pit them together. That was very entertaining. But soon after this, the Bray Wyatt Eater of World's character had been beaten so much. I think even White himself was like, man, we're going to have to change things up.

7:00.3

When, of course, he made his grand return to WWE. After WrestleMania in 2019, he had the Firefly Fund House, he was going to become the fiend, and he had a bunch of puppet friends. And who was one of these puppets? Abigail the witch. I don't need to explain that one to you. I think you can figure it out. This soon then all led into a feud with old stable mate and old family member, I suppose, Braun-Strauman, which is yes, when we get our fishing run out and who do we have to bring them to the equation? It's Alexa Bliss. Now I think originally, and I may have read this wrong, the first time you do see Bray White, Braunstriyman and Alexa Bliss hanging out together, it's not actually meant to be Alexa Bliss. Bray Wyatt was using

7:35.0

his super-duper-whooper powers to essentially lure Braun into a difficult situation using sort of an
