Summary

When a little girl in upstate New York begins speaking to someone only she can see, her family assumes it’s just another imaginary friend. But "Lila" isn’t like other childhood companions—she only appears inside the house, seems to know things she shouldn't, and may not be a child at all. From midnight whispers to a dog too terrified to cross a threshold, what begins as child’s play turns into something far more sinister.
