I'm a little bit surprised that the Kansas City Royals did not make an announcement a couple days ago that Pedro Grifold was our new manager.

So to me, you guys got a guy that's ready to go.

If this was a horse race, safe to say the long shot won it.

Who would have predicted that after the season when we knew that Twynerosa wasn't coming back,

Pedro Grifal would be the new manager of the White Sox, according to reports, but yeah, he's going to be the guy.

Yeah, I mean, long shots are good?

The Royals bench coach, right? Were we thinking Royals bench coach when you're looking at the end of how 2022 was ending for the White Sox? No, but that's not always how you draw it up. The big splashy name in this case is not the guy. And my take on it, Chuck, is this. And I, and I said this on Twitter earlier, it's impossible to say you love the hire. It's impossible to say you'd hate the hire. Feel how you want to feel. I'm not going to sit here and tell you how to feel. I just don't know how you can say, oh my God, this is a grand slam home run. We've talked to people doing some research, turning the papers over here and trying to find some more

information about him, which we're going to continue to do. There are definitely things to like

about him that the white socks absolutely need and had very little of, not just this year, but

2021 as well. All right. So Rick Hahn said this at the season ending press conference. He said,

ideally the right candidate has recent experience in the dugout on a championship-level team.

All right, so the Royals did win a championship in 2015.

He was the catching coach.

So, listen, there's no perfect answer, I guess.

You could have found a perfect answer if you'd just look at every single thing that Rick said,

but he also couched it a little bit, and that's nothing wrong with it, saying, ideally.

Well, ideally is one thing.

Realistically, they didn't get a guy like Ron Washington, Isaac Ian walking through that door.

And that's, those are the dots we were all connecting.
