So I will have a story up on Tuesday about how the commanders can find there's one school that fills a lot of needs for the commanders at number seven. So they have four guys who fill a need for Washington 7. Kind of rare to have one school that fills all that. So I want to talk to them about that. Yes, it's my alma mater, but all these guys make sense. Doesn't mean they'll take one. Doesn't mean there are guys that wouldn't be better for them at number seven if some of these guys are available. Just means that there's one school that does have those guys. And yes, I'm still annoyed that they did not win a national title despite having all those guys. But they do make sense. So I want to go over that and have some quotes from Dan Quinn on a few of the players. I think you'll enjoy it just because some of these guys may be here. I think some of

1:11.4

them will be difficult to get. So there you go. And then later in the week, I hope to have a story

1:15.8

or talk more about the commanders and free agency. And I will be back. I'll have a podcast out.

1:22.6

You'll probably listen to this either Monday night or Tuesday. I have another podcast Tuesday night

1:26.5

slash Wednesday morning with the video. just kind of going over some more stuff

1:30.3

with the commanders and another one at some point this week whether it's that one

1:33.3

or later about what I think the commander's approach to free agency will be

1:37.6

based on numerous conversations so anyways there you go so today I'm gonna

1:41.5

talk about the commander's own free agents what I think will will happen to them, who I think might return, and if some of the bigger names return in what capacity would they do so. So I'm going to start with Chris Paul because he's the, you know, I don't know, he's the, he's not necessarily, he's not the biggest name, but maybe he might be the bigger surprise because he played very well

2:01.3

this year. So my understanding is that he will hit free agency and because I think they feel like

2:07.3

there's, they feel like there's going to be a market for him. This team has already invested heavily

2:13.8

at guard. They're going to invest with Sam Cosme. They drafted Connolly in the first round,

2:19.7

and at some point he's going to get paid, but obviously that's a few years away, so that's not

2:22.6

a factor. But Cosme, they invested heavily there. They've invested a lot in Laramitoult left tackle,

2:29.0

and they're going to give him an extension, yes, that will get done this off that's, that's another one there. So they're not, they're not going to invest heavily at both guard position. So that's one thing. Now, what does that mean for Paul? Well, he's not as good as Cosme. So they're not going to take the same, not going to get the same kind of deal as Cosmy would, but it would require more of an investment. And the reason,

2:52.6

so there's a couple things with him. First of all, he did a nice job this year. There's no doubt

2:56.2

about that. I thought he had a good training camp. And when Coleman came back, I thought like,

3:00.9

well, will they let him compete for the job? Because he was doing a good job when Coleman was out

3:06.1

during camp. I think that's like, that was something that, job when Coleman was out during camp.

3:13.2

I think that's like that was something that, so when they, when they sat Coleman after, benched him after two games, then it made sense because Paul had done a nice job.
