She believes the man should at least offer to pay for the first date and pay attention to the way a woman responds to this. If the woman doesn’t even offer to pay some, then they are probably going to feel entitled in future marriage.   Rob believes that a man should not pay for the first date for many reasons. One of them being that chivalry is old fashioned and it doesn’t demonstrate equality. One fair way of doing things is that the invitee pays for the date. You can then take it in turns going forward.
