Welcome back to the Dershow. As I have been saying for the last 60 years, the extreme right

and the extreme left are much closer together ideologically than either is to the center

on their side. In other words, the extreme left is much closer to the extreme right than

for example, the extreme left is to liberals like me. I hate the extreme left. I'm appalled by

their intolerance and their unwillingness to accept free speech and do process. And the extreme

right there is almost no resemblance to true conservatives, to people who really want to

limit state power, et cetera. Now, the most recent example that appears in the New York Times

today and a couple of weeks ago, both the extreme right and the extreme left now on a trash

the United States Constitution. The United States Constitution is the longest serving

constitution in the history of humankind. That's a pretty good, pretty good statement to make

about something. It has survived the civil war. It has survived the civil rights movement. It

has survived so many things. It has changed and adapted over time. Is it perfect? Of course not.

I disagree with many of the provisions of the Bill of Rights. If I had to write the Bill of Rights

all over again, I would write the Second Amendment very differently. Right now it's incoherent.

You can't understand what the relationship is between the Second Clause and the First Clause deals

with well-regulated militias and the Second Clause deals with the right to bear arms. Is the

right to bear arms limited by the state's power to regulate its militias? Is it independent right?

Then what do you need the preliminary statement about the reasons for it being in a well-regulated

militia? That's just one example. There are so many examples. Search and seizure.

The Constitution is just unclear when you need a warrant, when you don't need a warrant, whether

the search of the Trump Mar-a-Lago would be consistent with the Fourth Amendment. There are so many

provisions and the Constitution has been amended 27 times. Sometimes in the most fundamental
