This is segment five.

The whole of this has got to do with really whatever happened with regard to apparent and not so apparent conspiracy

surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

In part one, and all through this, I mean, I would contend, and this is directly opposed

to what Stanton, Secretary of War, and some other high-placed politicians wish to pursue,

and that is they pinned it on the Confederacy in Jefferson Davis,

that we completely move suspicion off everybody in high places in Lincoln's own party, in Lincoln's

own cabinet, in Lincoln's own military, and that was to save their skin. In truth, the South had

nothing to do with it. Davis would never do a thing like that. And really, what would it gain the South after the fact?

Once the Confederacy was dissolved, I mean, such a mean-spirited and counterproductive

act as assassinating the sitting president could only bring all kinds of ban things down on the South's head, and it did

anyway. And that was another reason why Lincoln was to be removed because he was much too

conciliatory toward the South. There were many up in the North that wanted to punish the

South until they were barely recognizable, hence the Reconstruction Act.

And even if, you know, don't know much about Baker, I think you would like to know.
