We originally took the report as a missing person, and we have changed it now,

acting on the assumption that she may have been abducted.

It's a shock. We're a very quiet, safe community, and when something like this happens, it just seems unbelievable.

What went on was a ploy that was developed and carried through, and it looked like a natural action going on.

It didn't look out of the ordinary at all.

If anybody has seen her get into a vehicle,

we need, I think that would help quite a bit. We also have reason to believe that Amy left with

that individual from that location and went to another area where they may have gone shopping,

and that would be a mall or a shopping center

somewhere in the area. We have had thousands of suspects called in to our department.

viewing all her classmates at this time trying to get as much information as we

can relative to what they saw and what they heard her say.

Whoever did this was praying on this little girl and the love of her mother.

Early this afternoon, an anonymous caller told the FBI,

Amy had been dropped off at Euclid Square Mall in front of the Floorsheim shoe store.

Within minutes, the mall was crawling with police.

They searched inside and outside, but no Amy.

I just want to, you know, reach out and put my arms around and give a hug.

My instincts told me the searches wouldn't produce anything.

That was just my instincts.

I know they had to go through that as a part of the process.
