| 0:00.0 | This week on Things Unseen, we've been thinking about one of the greatest passages in the New Testament, Romans chapter 8, verses 31 to 35. |

| 0:29.6 | It's not what can be against us or what charge can be brought against God's elect. |
| 0:35.6 | It's who, who. And now there's a third question. |
| 0:40.6 | And once again, it's not what can condemn us? It's who, who can condemn us? |
| 0:48.2 | Now at first sight with this question, we might think that Paul is simply repeating himself. |
| 0:53.8 | After all, there doesn't seem to be much difference |
| 0:55.8 | between an accusation of guilt and condemnation, does there? |
| 1:01.8 | Many of us feel condemned the moment anyone accuses us. |
| 1:06.3 | But there is a difference. |
| 1:09.1 | The accusation is that we're guilty of something. |
| 1:12.9 | The condemnation is the result of being found guilty. |
| 1:18.1 | It's about the sentence that follows the verdict. |
| 1:21.9 | It's about the imprisonment that results from being found guilty. And this is intriguing, isn't it? |
| 1:30.3 | Because if Paul has already said that no accusation against us can stick when God has justified |
| 1:36.8 | us in Christ, why does he need to bother talking about condemnation? |
| 1:43.6 | Well, here's the answer, I think. Logically, that may seem to be true. Father talking about condemnation. |
| 1:44.3 | Well, here's the answer, I think. |
| 1:46.7 | Logically, that may seem to be true. |
| 1:49.9 | But spiritually, it isn't always like that, is it? |
| 1:53.2 | Precisely because our adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking |
