We're 2 Corinthians chapter 11. If you'll take your Bibles and go there to 2nd Corinthians

chapter 11. We go straight through the Bible here at Cornerstones, whether you are

regular attenders or you're part of the homecoming crowd from the online audience. You know what

we do. This is 2nd Corinthians 11. I'm going to read the first four verses.

Paul writes here, 2 Corinthians 11, verse 1, oh, that you would bear with me in a little folly,

and indeed you do bear with me, for I am jealous for you with godly jealousy,

for I have betrothed you to one husband that I may present you as a

chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness,

so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached,

or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received,

or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you may well put up with it.

Now, let me read that last verse, verse four.

Listen to what verse four says.

You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one

we preach, or a different kind of spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of

gospel than the one you believed. So Paul has a deep concern about the Church of Corinth. Remember, he is writing this letter to a church

that he founded. He founded this church about five or six years before he writes Second Corinthians.

Paul is writing from Macedonia, which is in northern Greece. He's writing down to the Church of
