Summary

Host Ian Hartitz is joined by PFF analyst Andrew Erickson to break down which player, position group or coach could potentially stop or at least slow down every NFC offense. NFC East discussion revolves around the Cowboys' need for good health across the offensive line, if the Football Team's defense could be annoyingly good for fantasy investors to deal with, why Jason Garrett is a problem and if Jalen Hurts might be getting too much hype. Conversation continues with some less than kind words for the Seahawks and Cardinals offensive approach before the guys wonder which passing game pieces will really thrive in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Ian thinks the Packers could fall back to earth in 2021, while Andrew just wants Jared Goff to feed T.J. Hockenson the football. Why is Andy Dalton a thing. Ugh. The podcast concludes with discussion surrounding Matt Ryan's immediate future, Taysom freaking Hill, Sam Darnold slander and whether or not father time will ever deal with Tom Brady.

Hello and welcome to the PFF fancy football podcast. I'm your host Ian Harditz and we are back. My apologies for not having a show last week. That was the first week.

0:17.0

We did not have a show since I got to take over the lovely podcast back in July of 2020. I like to think we have learned a lot since then.

0:23.0

Obviously still have plenty to learn as well. I am joined by none other than our usual Wednesday guests here. Andrew Erickson, you can find all of his work on pff.com also on Twitter at Andrew Erickson underscore Andrew.

0:35.0

It's been a long week and a half man. How are you?

0:39.0

So I was on cloud nine yesterday went for a walk found 20 bucks on the ground scooped it up was feeling great today. Not so much.

0:47.0

I dropped my phone in the toilet. So was it clean 20 or is it a Pudol? It was a clean 20. So I guess you could say things kind of regressed to the mean. I was really high and I'm kind of a little down in the dumps.

1:00.0

But my phone's okay put in some rice. I think that we averted the crisis phones these days are not what they like they used to be where they basically destroyed if they touched water. So I think we'll be okay.

1:12.0

Could it be me man my four year old Android is indestructible threw it off a wall a couple years ago. It's cracked but not dead.

1:19.0

We are remaining away from team iPhone for the time being enough of that talk though.

1:23.0

People I have a very special podcast to bring you today. We are going to go through basically every NFC offense will do aFC next week and go through who could possibly stop this offense because if you've been on Twitter in the last month or so.

1:35.0

You probably seen the tweets from the PFF account you probably seen them from other team accounts not team accounts but you know content accounts and basically the game is you put every teams quarterback running back water.

1:45.0

See for one water see for two.

1:47.0

Tied and whatever their selection is and they ask who is going to stop this offense and okay for some teams like the chiefs or you know the packers with Aaron Rogers.

1:55.0

It's a good question. But with other teams like I don't know the jets or the giants. You can actually come up with a fairly good idea.

2:02.0

So I think a lot of times at fancy land we tend to be you know after basically whatever one I say it all the time we hate ADPs we do not hate players so I'm not you know we're not coming off against anyone too strong on this but it is a good idea to remember there are floors are everybody involved even the best situation can sometimes be turned on their head and fancy land so with that said.

2:22.0

And you're going to kick things off the NFC East who is stopping this cowboy's offense of worse comes to worse in 2021 so this one's this one's tough because there really isn't any glaring holes and I think ultimately just goes back to you know Mike McCarthy to an extent.

2:37.0

I mean it seemed like things were working with him in the offense last year with Dak press got obviously starting off really well but I think it just goes down to injuries I mean this team was just super banged up in 2020.

2:49.0

If you look back at 2019 they were really healthy like they were one of the healthiest rosters so again things like this don't tend to carry over from season to season you know the most injured team usually isn't the most injured team the year after usually things kind of.

3:03.0

So for me it's it's that can they just stay healthy the offensive line is healthy they that's going to be good for his equal Elliott if Dak press got a selfie obviously saw him last year you know he was basically the top quarterback I know you wrote an article about Dak you know he's got a super high ceiling if he stays healthy.

3:20.0

I guess the defense you know maybe could be better but based on the moves that they've made it doesn't really seem likely mean they didn't get one of the top cornerbacks in the draft they got they got Parsons and again he's a linebacker.

3:32.0

So we'll see how much he really impact he can make on the on the secondary that you know it was awful last year.

3:37.0

I am excited to see Parsons and kind of Bruce urban role where he might actually be used more as a pass rusher on third downs but that's fine we want to defense to stay shitty in fantasy like that is fine by me I think he touched on it briefly it's the offensive line because I mean last season was the first time that we saw Dak like not have to excuse me last season was the first time we saw Dak elevate not perfect supporting cast like I get it the wider severs were great.
