Summary

0:02.8	In fact, it was a famous experiment by Stanley Milgram.
0:08.0	We've all, there's been movies made about this guy.
0:11.0	He was fascinated with Nazi Germany.
0:13.6	He wanted to figure out how was it people could do such atrocities.
0:18.2	So he devised multiple different types of trials and experiments.
0:21.5	He was doing at Yale University, bringing students and people from all over to test them.
0:26.6	Well, in this one particular study that we've all talked about, right?
0:29.4	We've all talked about the sort of the electric shock study.

0:34.3	Basically, he would bring two people in.
0:35.8	He would tell them both, look, there's going to be a teacher and a learner.
0:38.9	And we're trying to study whether or not someone, how quickly they learn from, you know,

0:49.6	And so the real treat, now both people, you think they're both in the study, but there's
0:54.8	only one person, one of the guys that's going to opt into being the learner.
0:58.9	The one being an electric shocked on the other side of the room.

1:05.0	The only one person is really being studied.
1:08.0	And that's the person delivering the shocks.
