Like, it's not our job to watch your children, so fair enough. Well, today we're going to talk about something that's even more raucous than children at a pool.

We're going to talk about Washington, D.C., and who's actually in charge.

And our guest today is the Distinguished Fellow at GAI, Jason Chaffetz, former member of Congress, former chairman of the House Oversight Committee.

He has a book that came out called The Puppeteers, The People Who Control the People Who Control America.

Oh, hey, thanks for having me. So we want to talk about this subject of who's actually running

things in Washington. People obviously get very frustrated. They feel like they vote in people,

new congressmen come in,

things don't really change. Have we reached the point where we don't actually have a representative

government anymore? Well, the concern is the thesis of the book and the reason I think it's so

illuminating is that Democrats made a very concerted effort over the last 15 years or so to put government on autopilot.

The whole idea and the whole notion was that it would run itself regardless of elections.

And they've gotten so cavalier now.
