Hey, Smarty Pants. Have you heard our Encyclopedia episode? Maybe you're listening to it right now.

0:05.9

I'm kind of obsessed with encyclopedias, those huge sets of books that contain a little bit of

0:11.6

knowledge about, well, pretty much everything. When I was just a little narrator, about your age,

0:17.7

my parents kept an encyclopedia in our house. So if I wanted to learn about volcanoes or dinosaurs or outer space, I opened my encyclopedia

0:26.3

and read all about it.

0:28.2

I could easily spend an hour reading and learning, but something was missing.

0:33.0

To be totally honest, encyclopedias back then were actually a little boring.

0:38.6

Lots of words, not too many pictures, and no games.

0:42.0

Which got me thinking, what if I could create an encyclopedia that had all the learning of my old encyclopedia and all the fun games and laughs of who smarted?

0:53.5

So I did. I created the encyclopedia of smarting just for you,

0:58.7

Smarty Pants. They're the kind of books I wish someone had made for me when I was just a young narrator.

1:04.7

For the first three volumes, I went with dinosaurs, food, and explosions. Three topics I know Who Smarted fans will love.

1:13.1

Packed with amazing illustrations, insane facts, games, trivia, and of course, jokes.

1:19.1

These are like having supersized Who Smarted episodes available anytime to enjoy with friends or family.

1:26.9

Carry them in your backpack, bring them to your

1:28.7

friend's house, show them to your teacher, or just enjoy them at night before bedtime. No matter how

1:34.4

you use them, I know you'll love them. Of course, creating encyclopedia costs money. It takes

1:41.3

researchers, writers, game designers, and illustrators to bring it to life,

1:46.4

which is why I launched this ambitious project as a Kickstarter. That means it's crowdfunded,

1:53.1

which is another way of saying, if there isn't enough interest in the encyclopedia of smarting,

1:58.0

then I won't actually go ahead with making it. As of right now,

2:01.6

I'm about halfway to my goal, which means I'm counting on you to help us get to the finish line.
