Let's play pretend that the Blackhawks are moving on from Andres Sorensen and bringing in a true

defensive specialist. We've talked about this idea a few times. We've taken some time and we've

come up with some names. And you and I, I think, have several that match. I think when you look

around the league and you look at like coaches that are currently or have been in that role where

like their focus is the is the defense not

necessarily like oh pk and like no like you are in charge of defense it's how coaching staffs

shake out you'll have the head coach you'll have the forwards guy a defensive guy power play

penalty kill all that stuff coltenders one thing that you mentioned uh when you when kind of first

brought this up was like track

record, right? Like Andrew like Anderson, nothing against him. Like he he has a good coaching resume,

but he's respected. But when they got rid of Luke Richardson two seasons ago, like that was his first

NHL experience and he was brought, be the NHL head coach.

Okay.

And he was moved up from an AHL assistant to AHL head coach when Jeremy

Carlton was fired.

And they brought Derek King up from AHL head coach to the NHL head coach interim.

So, you know, he's kind of been up fast-tracked, and he was, you know, coaching development

level and youth level for a number of years as well.

So, like, the NHL track record is just not there.

Right.

He's getting some of that experience, but I think the biggest point is like the development

of these young players is very important to take those next steps and take them now.
