How do you fix a program that feels like it really underachieved?

Well, you hire a guy that is always overachieved.

Hello and welcome in. It's always college football.

Your host, Greg McElroy. We're glad to have you with us here today,

because today we're

going to be diving in to one of the most fascinating psychological exercises that you'll find in all

of sports, preseason expectations. We've all been there, right? It's August. The sun is hot.

We look at the roster of the team that we support. You see a five-star

quarterback here. You see a great returning defensive lineman here. You see great program stability all

over the place. And we convince ourselves that this program, they are destined for a college football playoff run

and the ball's kicked off and things go sideways.

And all of a sudden, the preseason tax, if you will, it comes due.

And suddenly the top four ranking, top five ranking, top 12, top 13 ranking, it feels like an anchor

around the neck of the team that is trying to just find an identity.

So we're actually going to look back today at some teams from 2025.

And we're going to perform a bit of an autopsy on the teams that kind of broke our hearts

and their own last season. This isn't going to be a trip down memory lane for the sake of wallowing. We're actually going to spin it forward. We're going to look at the 2026 bounce back blueprint from a quarterback reshuffle to the the cultural transplant that we're

seeing in some other places with some new coaches to the year four rule that might be

effected in Lincoln, Nebraska, who has the personnel, who has some key additions in the

portal, who has the schedule to turn last year's disappointment

into this year's redemption.
