I'm your friend David Pierce and I am standing in my kitchen making cold brew coffee.

So really over the course of the last decade, I've become kind of a coffee snob.

I don't recommend this lifestyle, first of all.

If you're the kind of person who can just like buy the big tin of coffee at the grocery

store and then put that in a Mr. Coffee Maker and press the button and drink what comes

out and be happy with it.

That is the correct way to live your life.

It's cheaper, it's easier, it's faster, don't ever change.

I, on the other hand, have made a lot of mistakes and so now I'm the guy who has a scale and

a grinder that I can put to 50 different levels and I have a Chemex that I spend hours carefully

dialing in the ratios and it's all just kind of ridiculous.

But this is the life I've chosen somehow.

This summer's project has been cold brew.

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make the best iced coffee, a drink

iced coffee probably like 10 months out of the year and you can make iced coffee a million

different ways.

But it turns out after lots of experimentation that the one I like the most is basically

you just grind up some coffee, put it in a giant mason jar like this one I have and then

pour water on it, stir it all up, stick it in the fridge for like 24 hours and then it's

delicious.

It's so simple.
