during this difficult time. All right we are digging into Colossians

Chapter 1 and we got halfway through our passage yesterday that was

chapter 1 versus 21 and 22 where the Apostle Paul is explaining the difference

that Jesus himself has made in our lives as individuals.

And he described first of all, which is what we dealt with yesterday,

the condition we found ourselves in,

and that is that we were alienated to God and we were hostile in mind toward him and we're doing evil deeds.

And now Paul is going to tell us the fullness of what Jesus has done for us.

He says he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death in order to present you wholly and blameless and above reproach before him.

That is an incredible statement of transformation, going from being alienated and hostile

to now being reconciled.

And it says the means by which Jesus did that is in his body of flesh by his death.

You see the cross, the death of Jesus on that cross is what reconciles us to him and to the Father. But notice in the phrase there is a reason

behind that reconciliation. It's not just to give us forgiveness of our sins, though that is incredibly important, and I'm thankful for it.
