Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. | 0:23.9 | Today's story is part two of a mystery story, which means you need to listen to part one to listen to all the clues and try and figure out what kind of critter the story is about. |
| 0:34.5 | Well, friends, are you ready to hear Derek and Beatrice's story? Me too. Let's go. |
| 0:43.6 | That terrifying sound that Derek had just heard echoed through the hillside. |
| 0:56.8 | Before he was able to fly off back to his nest to check on his family, |
| 1:02.1 | he needed to figure out where that sound was coming from. |
| 1:05.6 | As he scanned the area around him, he couldn't see anything. |
| 1:13.6 | And then when he looked high up above him, |
| 1:22.9 | in the shadow up against the moonlight in the sky, he spotted a golden eagle, a ginormous golden eagle way off in the distance. He knew that that eagle could be up to no good. |

| 1:38.1 | their babies would be a prime target of such a huge bird of prey. |

| 1:51.1 | his hunt for food and quietly race back to his nest. |
| 1:56.5 | As he flew closer and closer to the hilltop home, he heard more and more sounds. |
| 2:07.0 | He hears the eagle calling louder and louder, and Derek realizes he's flying right next to the eagle. |
| 2:17.5 | Oh no. |
| 2:19.7 | Derek isn't sure what to do because he doesn't want to lead the eagle right to his nest, |
| 2:25.7 | so he decides to give off a loud, scary sound. |
