I hear the word Nazi thrown around a lot as we watch the rise of autocracy in this country,

and I used to resist it more than I do.

There is a rising tide of Nazism parallels to Nazi Germany, and I thought, well, there are some. There's some overlap. But I mean, is that hyperbole these days? I mean, I just, I was so naive, like neo-Nazis.

I used to think that mostly today's white supremacy groups,

I don't know, they were a bunch of fringe organizations, a bunch of cranky, young white guys

who were sitting around making a lot of noise because they were terrified at their impending

irrelevance, right? They were always going to be on the outside,

but it wasn't the 50s and the 60s.

They weren't walking around in white hoods
