Summary

Earlier this week, Arizona became the first state to file a lawsuit against the Biden administration over the President's latest vaccine mandates for federal workers and large companies. Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich argues that President Biden's new vaccine requirements are unconstitutional and violate the Equal Protection Clause. Brnovich points out that illegal immigrants who enter the U.S. are not subject to the same federal vaccine requirements as American citizens. Brnovich joins to break down his state's lawsuit, why he says it violates the U.S. constitution and why he believes we can't have a serious conversation about COVID-19 until we start talking about what's going on at the southern border. On Tuesday, September 14th, the Department of Justice filed an emergency order asking a federal judge in Texas for a temporary halt on the new Texas law banning abortions past six weeks of pregnancy. While President Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland expressed their belief the law is unconstitutional and in direct conflict with Roe v. Wade, Texas Governor Greg Abbott's press secretary asserted Abbott signed this law to protect "the most precious freedom...life itself." Law Professor at George Washington University and Fox News Contributor, Jonathan Turley joins to explain that while pundits are focused on the Texas law, the Supreme Court is set to hear a case on a Mississippi abortion law that could seriously weaken Roe v. Wade. Turley breaks down why Democrats' moves to codify Roe v. Wade could create issues of federal overreach, how Mississippi's law could enhance the authority of states in the pre-viability stage of abortion, and how the Supreme Court is likely to rule on this landmark case on states' rights in regard to abortion.
