And give me a sense, if you would, just as an agent, give me an overview of what we discovered and how you felt everything went down at the scene.

So the suspect apparently had a grievance against the government writ large and all the leadership in the government.

He booked his room at the hotel a month after President Trump announced he was going there.

He checked in Friday night with all his guns and everything else he brought from California.

Most hotels in the U.S. don't run people through magnetometers or

exterior machines. He was able to bring everything up to his room. He was not on anybody's

radar. Nobody knew anything about him. His family, I think, were surprised at what happened,

which is pretty typical for these lone wolf types. And then when he was up in his room,

he assembled his weapons. He took a stairwell down to a part of the hotel that's outside the secure zone. And he exited from the, uh, onto the ramp. And that Hilton Hotel, there's a ramp that goes up where the magnetometers are. I did this site when I was a secret service agent and then there's stairs that go down to like a four-year area. Then you go into the grand ballroom. So he got out of the stairs and then he charged up the ramp. The Secret Service magnetometer checkpoint, which is one of the multiple layers

or tripwires of security that are in place at every Secret Service site.
