White Boy Rick.

Set during the height of the crack epidemic and the War on Drugs in 1980s, Detroit,

the film tells the true story of Rick Worse Jr.,

a teenager who was convinced by federal agents to become an undercover drug informant

in exchange for keeping his gun-dealing father out of prison.

Seduced by the lure of easy money, he gets in too deep and becomes a notorious drug dealer

himself.

In addition to White Boy Rick, Mr. Demange's credits include the feature film 71, episodes

of the series Top Boy, Criminal Justice, and Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and episodes of the

miniseries Dead Set.

Following a recent screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles,

Mr. Demage spoke with director John Singleton about filming White Boy Rick. During their conversation,

Mr. Demange talks about casting 15-year-old Richie Merritt as the lead, emphasizing experiential

storytelling during the film, and how meeting the real white boy Rick allowed him to find the tone for the film.
