When Todd Ramquist and his partner, Kiara Linda were kids, they lived in a neighborhood where every single house looked exactly the same.

Your house had to be earth tone, browns and yellow, you know, not bright yellows, and like you couldn't

have a basketball hoop. But then in the 1980s they

bought a little house there. It was beige, that's not a color. We don't

consider it a color at all, beige, white, none of that. And ever since, Todd and

Carolinda have made their house look like anything but every other house on the block.

Every single surface of the little tiny cottage

is painted a different color and or multi colored

with designs.

I actually made a postcard a long time ago that called it,

like what it is called,

fantasmagorical,

multi-colored gingerbread house with a I'm Dylan Thuris and this is Atlas Obscura, a celebration of the world's strange, incredible, and wondrous places.
