What's up everybody?

Welcome back to the Packaday podcast. I'm your host, Andy Herman. You can follow me on Twitter at Andy Herman NFL. Thanks so much for joining me today. I was just about to hit record on today's episode. When a notification rolls through on my phone, Jim Leonard will be leaving the Wisconsin Badgers. No, this is not a Wisconsin Badgers podcast, but you might know where I'm going with this. For those of you who are thinking that

0:44.8

maybe just maybe a certain defensive coordinator in Green Bay may not be in Green Bay next year.

0:51.2

And for those of you who remember that Jim Leonard was seemingly and apparently and

0:55.9

reportedly the frontrunner for the defensive coordinator position when Joe Barry did get the job,

1:02.5

maybe, just maybe, although Jim Leonard is leaving the Wisconsin Badgers at the end of this

1:09.0

season after the bowl game, maybe he ends up staying

1:12.5

in Wisconsin and becoming the Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator after all.

1:17.2

I don't have too much more to say on it, to be honest, we've got a long way to go until that

1:20.9

point.

1:21.7

If you're looking for hope that maybe Leonard could be the defensive coordinator, I think the positive here, if you're hopeful,

1:30.3

would be that he's coaching the defense for the Badgers through their bowl game. So if he were

1:35.9

to leave right now, a lot of college options would potentially open up for him and he would

1:41.0

immediately be able to start looking for jobs, which to some extent he still will.

1:46.0

But it means that he probably will not have a job lined up at least until after the Badgers

1:51.0

Bull game, which could mean that Green Bay, once they're eliminated, likely at the end of the regular

1:56.4

season, that well, just frankly, he could still be available at that point, right?

2:01.2

Which may not be the case as soon as the Badgers hired, you know, Fickle as their head coach,

2:06.7

if Leonard was just, I'm done and I start searching for jobs, he might have had a job by the time

2:11.6

the Packers were, you know, even considering looking at another defensive coordinator.
