Hello my friends welcome back to the morning mindset I'm so thankful that you are with me

to get your mind aligned with the truth of God it is a beautiful morning here am. I hope it is a good day where you are. We are diving in to the

book of Romans. Chapter number six. And as I mentioned in a previous episode, this is one of my favorite sections of the book of Romans

chapter six seven and eight are laying out some of the foundational truths we need to

know to be I don't know what you call it, successful in the Christian life.

Because how we live and how we act is based on what we believe.

It doesn't matter what walk of life you're in.

Belief dictates the way that you behave.

We can give example after example of that in our lives,

but we're going to dig into Paul's teaching today to

understand what it is we need to believe about sin, where it comes from, where its

power is, and what we can do in terms of our responsibility regarding sit.

In verse number 11 of chapter 6, Paul says, in the same way count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Now he's saying in the same way referring back to what Jesus has done on the cross and how he left

sin and death in the grave when he resurrected and he's saying in the same way you should consider that you are dead to sin but alive to

God just like Jesus came alive again and he says therefore do not let

sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires so we talked

about that yesterday we have a responsibility not to let

sin push us around. And it's based on this understanding that we are dead to sin. We've actually

been raised to newness of life.

In verse 13, he expands a little bit.

And he says, do not offer any part of yourself
