There are five different perspectives that Christian traditions have regarding the relationship between the two kingdoms.

How many of you grew up in church or you've been a Christian for a while?

And what happens is, depending upon what tradition

you were raised in, there's a different approach

to how to view the relationship between the two kingdoms.

This is why during election season even Christians start

arguing with one another because we don't agree on how to deal with the two

kingdoms. So these are the five kinds of Christians in the two kingdoms. I'll start with

Psalm 47-8. God reigns over what? The nations. Which nations? All of them.

So Jesus is Lord, that means he's Lord over all the nations. God sits on his holy

throne. In their day a king would sit on a throne. And the Bible says if you see into the

unseen realm you'll see Jesus seated on a throne and

he's ruling over all the nations. So what is the relationship between his

throne and the little thrones between his kingdom and the little nations.

For those who are Catholic, and I was raised Catholic, the church is greater and can rule the

state functioning as one kingdom.

So they would collapse the church in the state.

They would say that the state is under the church,

so the church is greater, the two can be collapsed.

This is where you get the equivalent of Catholic nations. When this

happens, let me say this, when the church gets into bed with the state, the church

doesn't make the state clean the state makes the church dirty.
